Lead the team. Train the members. Help build what comes next.
Rather than operating with a large group of disconnected part-time employees, we are building our location around a small, highly accountable full-time leadership team. The Gym Manager is one of three key full-time leadership positions at the gym.
This is not an office-only management position. You will lead camps. You will know our members. You will sell. You will work the front floor. You will help keep the gym organized and clean. You will lead the team. And most importantly, you will be responsible for helping the entire location perform at a high level.
Our philosophy is simple
Everyone trains. Everyone serves. Everyone helps operate the gym. Each leader also owns a critical part of the business.
For this role, that ownership is: Run It.
The Gym Manager is the primary leadership and accountability role for Burn Boot Camp Oxford. You'll work alongside two other full-time leaders. Your responsibility is to make sure those pieces, and the rest of the gym, work together.
Run It.
Makes sure the team, numbers, schedule, and overall business operate correctly.
Grow It.
Focused on growing membership, sales, leads, and promotions.
See the role →Keep It.
Focused on retaining members, engagement, results, and the overall member journey.
See the role →You don't have to personally do everything. You do need to make sure the right things get done.
You will know the numbers behind the gym:
You'll work with the other two full-time leaders to make sure problems are identified and acted on quickly.
All three full-time leaders take part in operations, including:
Operations belong to the entire leadership team. The Gym Manager is accountable for making sure they're executed consistently.
Training is a major part of this position. The goal is approximately 5–8 camps per week, depending on scheduling and business needs. We don't want a manager who only sees numbers from an office. We want a leader who understands the business because they are working inside it with our members and team.
During camp times, two operational seats generally need to be covered. Throughout the week, our full-time leadership team moves between both.
One person leads the camp and delivers the Burn experience.
The second leader handles things such as:
Our goal is a predictable full-time schedule. A typical week for this position may look like:
| Day | Typical hours |
|---|---|
| Monday | 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM |
| Tuesday | 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM |
| Wednesday | 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM |
| Thursday | 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM |
| Friday | 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM |
| Saturday | 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM |
| Approximate total | 35 hours |
Schedules may flex based on staffing, events, vacations, and business needs.
We believe good jobs should have clear expectations. You will help own results such as:
The position is designed to include performance-based earning opportunities when the gym performs well. We want our team to have the ability to make more money when they help create more success.
Burn Boot Camp offers the opportunity to work inside an established national fitness brand while still being part of a locally owned business where individual leadership matters.
Our franchise ownership group believes strongly in building from within. We want Oxford to perform at a high level, and then build from that success.
As our organization grows, successful leaders may have opportunities to pursue additional responsibility, including areas such as:
Those opportunities are not automatic or guaranteed. They are opportunities we want to create for people who help us build successful locations and prove they can lead at the next level.
We aren't looking for someone who simply wants their next job. We're interested in finding people who might want to build something with us.
Your job is to:
Run It.If that sounds exciting rather than overwhelming, we should probably talk.
